Super fast Internet in the UK, not quite yet

It really wasn’t that long ago that we reported that the UK was looking into a super fast internet, but now it seems they have slammed the breaks on that initiative!
Both regulator Ofcom and BT have expressed doubts about whether the time is ripe for rolling out what would be expensive fibre optic networks.
Seems like they aren’t the only ones saying it may be a little premature as the network firms don’t seem sure that they could make money out of a faster internet, “The question is how to make money and I’m not sure the answer is good,” said Justin Paul, a development manager at telecoms equipment firm Alcatel-Lucent.
With fiber already commonplace in Japan and South Korea, and increasingly available in the US, France and Germany this just seems really lame to me!
