The Samsung Instinct is a great device to have for those people who want to have iPhone-like features, but do not want to get the iPhone itself!

The Samsung Instinct is a touch screen phone in a manner identical to Apple’s popular device, but that is where the comparison must end. The Instinct offers a slew of features that makes it one of the better phones in its category.

Measuring 4.57 inches by 2.17 inches by 0.49 inch, the thin candy bar style phone from Samsung weighs just 4.4 ounces. The display on the touch screen supports 262,000 colors and has a 432,240-pixel resolution. Equipped with a 2.0 megapixel camera, the Samsung Instinct can store up to 5,000 images.

Memory-wise the phone has a 2GB MicroSD Card that is expandable up to8GB. The phone boasts of two 1,000mAh Lithium-ion batteries, each capable of 5.75 hours of continuous talk time.

For corporate users, the Samsung Instinct offers 3G (EV-DO Rev. A) network compatibility, integrated GPS, and work e-mail support. With a sleek and intuitive design, the Samsung Instinct offers buyers style plus substance in a powerful package.

Features like multimedia messaging, voice dialing and video recording and a contact book that can hold 600 names makes the Instinct a mean device.

If there’s one feature that leaves users wanting more, its the web browser. The Samsung Instinct has a full HTML browser where users can see scaled down mobile versions of websites. However there is no support for Flash.

Another issue is the lack of support for Wi-Fi and instant messaging. Apps and games include Sprint’s NFL Mobile Application and games like Bejeweled, Brain Challenge, Sudoku, Midnight Bowling, Million Dollar Poker, Nascar Sprint Cup, Scene It, and Pac-Man.

The Samsung Instinct is available on Sprint for $129 with a two-year “Simply Everything” plan, which costs $70 per month.plan, which costs $70 per month.
