Transcend announces a 16GB SDHD card

Wasn’t is yesterday that I bought the largest capacity SD card available, which was 4GB? Well, Transcend has now announced that their 16GB Class 6 SDHC card will be available soon (small details, such as an availability date and price are still missing). This card is based on the second generation of SD cards, and it features a data transfer speed of 6 MB/s, supports the FAT32 file system format and has ECC to avoid data corruption and missing files when transferring data.
The massive 16GB memory capacity is enough to store over 8,000 high-resolution 7M JPG photos, thousands of video clips, or even complete full-length high quality movies.
Currently I do have a hard time filling my 4GB SD card with my digital camera before the battery dies, so isn’t it time to work on high-capacity batteries already (hint hint manufacturers)?
