Superman might have X-ray vision but Warner Bros. home video division might need to hire a few more good eyes to check for mistakes like this. Bonus content on the Superman III Deluxe Edition and Dolby Digital 2.0 mix on the first disc of Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition were accidentally left off of the DVDs included in the Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition ($99) released a few weeks ago.

Customers can call (800) 553-6937 to get replacements for only those two discs. SIII can only be replaced if it was part of the Collector’s Edition and the disc for Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition can be either from the individual title, the Collector’s Edition or the Christopher Reeve Superman Collection. Other than the omitted material, the discs are otherwise undamaged (which means most people may never even notice any content is missing). The 14-disc Collector’s set includes all the Superman films, including either Deluxe or Special Editions versions of I-IV and Superman Returns, a longer cut of II and bonus DVDs.

Dear Customer:

Warner Home Video has discovered that bonus content was inadvertently omitted from the Superman III Deluxe Edition contained within the 14-disc Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition gift box. Also, disc one of Superman, The Movie (Four-Disc Special Edition), Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition and The Christopher Reeve Collection was produced with Dolby Surround 5.1 but inadvertently did not include the original 1978 Dolby 2.0 stereo surround sound mix. Please note that these discs are not defective; we have received no complaints regarding the playability of these discs.

Warner Home Video has taken immediate steps to correct these unintentional errors. If you have complaints, please call 1-800-553-6937 where replacement discs will be made available at no cost to the customer. Warner Home Video will provide consumers with a pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope for sending the discs they are returning to Warner Home Video. Upon receipt of the purchased discs, Warner Home Video will send replacement discs as soon as they become available, currently anticipated in mid-December 2006. Only Region 1 discs from the Superman III Deluxe Edition contained within the Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition gift box and disc one of Superman: The Movie (Four-Disc Special Edition), The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection, and the Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition gift box are eligible to participate in the exchange program. Warner Home Video will honor all requests for replacement discs that comply with the exchange program requirements.
